Dear IGSHPA Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am writing to share an important leadership update regarding the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association. After years of dedicated service to our organization and the broader geothermal industry, Jeff Hammond announced his retirement as Executive Director of IGSHPA, effective September 18, 2026.

During his tenure, Jeff played a critical role in steering IGSHPA through key transitions, elevating our workforce training and accreditation programs, and ensuring our industry had a strong, unified voice during a pivotal period for renewable heating and cooling technologies. His leadership helped solidify IGSHPA’s position as the premier standard-setting and educational body for ground-source heat pump technology.

Ensuring Continuity and Looking Ahead

The Board of Directors is actively managing the transition process to select IGSHPA’s next leader. Jeff will be working alongside the Board over the coming weeks, along with Sally, our associate Executive director and the dedicated staff, to facilitate a smooth handoff and ensure our ongoing operations, upcoming training sessions, and advocacy efforts continue without interruption.

Our core commitment to our members, accredited professionals, and industry partners—remains unchanged. As the demand for geothermal technology continues to grow, IGSHPA remains focused on delivering high-value training, maintaining rigorous industry standards, and advocating for the advancement of ground-source systems worldwide.

Expressing Our Gratitude

Please join us in extending our sincere appreciation to Jeff for his years of hard work, leadership, and personal commitment to the geothermal community. We wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.

We will keep the membership updated as the leadership transition progresses. If you have any questions during this period, please feel free to reach out to the Board or IGSHPA staff directly.

Thank you for your continued support of IGSHPA and dedication to our industry.

Sincerely,

Jack DiEnna, Board Chair
International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA)
